Kitty Birthday Card - Paper Smooches Party Posse set

I made this card for a niece's birthday. She is a teenager so I thought she'd like the cat from the Party Posse set by Paper Smooches. The sentiment is also from that set. I used some glue dots to adhere neon sequins to the card for some fun.

Here are some other card's I've made lately...
The adorable parachute bunny is from The Cats Pajamas stamps and is called "Oh Chute!".
The flowers are from a PTI set.

I just LOVE the deer stamp from Paper Smooches'  "Happy Camper" set.
The party hat is from their "Party Posse" set. Paper is Lawn Fawn.

The piggy stamp is from Paper Smooches' "Green Acres" set.

Tool card made with fun stamp set from Amuse Studio called "tool-rific". You probably can't tell, but I watermark stamped screws and nails in the background.

I made a special e-reader to add to the card that the bunny is holding. I even stamped words on the "screen". The adorable parachute bunny is from The Cats Pajamas stamps and is called "Oh Chute!".

Take note!

I made this card for someone that likes pigs. I had a hard time coming up with a design. Once I decided to  use the note paper, I had to try it in a few different colors before settling on gray. Just the pig on the notepaper wasn't enough, so I had to figure out what else to add! I'm still fairly new to card making so it takes me a while to get a card "put together".

The pig stamp is from Paper Smooches' "Green Acres" set. I used the PTI notepad page die. The paper pad lines are from a My Favorite Things journaling stamp set as is the sentiment.

I thought it was a fun tough to have the pig have his own note. I used a splotch stamp so it looked like he wrote his note in mud. =)

Happy Camper Window Card - Summer Card Camp 2

This card is a result of what I learned in Online Card Classes' Summer Card Camp 2 class. I used the color scheme and sketch from the Week 2, Day 1 class to come up with this card. The paper pieced stamps (deer and trees) are from Paper Smooches. I love their adorable stamps.

Paper Smooches Cool Shades - Turtle Birthday Card

This is my first time participating in the paper smooches cool shades challenge. I just bought my first one of their stamp sets - Party Posse. Super cute! I can't wait to make some more cards with this set.

Fish More Thank You Note Set

For Father's Day, I made my Grandfather a set of Thank You notes using WPLUS9's "Fish More" set.  I had a few more colors of lures than the photo, but I wanted to make sure I got a snap before the sun went away.

Unfortunately, it was windy and one card blew away and got ruined.

A few close-ups. (Click to enlarge)

I also made him a card to go with his gift set using the latest card kit paper from Studio Calico. This card uses oval dies from Papertrey Ink as well as their Bountiful Banners Die. I think the heart is cut from a Simon Says Stamp die that includes hearts and stars.

WPLUS9's Mood Board #14

I decided to make a card for WPLUS9's Monday Mood Board #14. This is what I came up with based on their inspiration photo.

I only have one of their stamp sets that I just ordered a few weeks ago (though I now have more on my wish list!). Since that one stamp set I have is called "Fish More" and is full of fishing lure stamps, I had to get creative! I used the "Honey" sentiment, squiggly fishing line, and the small fish stamp which I used as flower petals! I just stamped the little fish over and over until it created a full flower!

Magic! I wish I could say using unconventional stamps in this manner was my idea, but I've seen other stamps used this way. I thought the technique could work for me with this little fish, and it did!

WPLUS9 "Fish More" Birthday Card

This is a card I made for my Dad's Birthday. I used the fishing lures and "Dad" sentiment from WPLUS9's Fish More stamp set and coordinating dies. This is my first stamp set purchase from them. I was inspired by this beautiful card by Jean Martin. The Happy Birthday, anchor, and banner are from Papertrey Ink's Bountiful Banners stamp set and coordinating dies. The giant "Birthday" running along the side of the card is also from Papertrey and is from Wonderful Words: Birthday.  Aren't the lures adorable? I used the corner of my black ink pad to make the zebra top on the green fish. I also used some tape to mask the stamps to make it easier to multi-color them. All the lures are stamped with ColorBox pigment inks and embossed with clear powder.

I also made a matching envelope for the card. I glued two sheets of pattern paper together and then used my Martha Stewart Score board thing to make the envelope. It has a special triangle gadget that tells you what size to cut the paper and where to score to get specific sizes of envelopes.  I added a little tape on the corners and some scor-tape between the layers of the envelope flap to make sure the envelope didn't start to separate.

Also, my card didn't get this beautiful on my first try. Check out my epic fail/first try below!

I quickly discovered that my pigment inks from Amuse and Impress were not working for me. I ended up using my Colorbox pigment inks with clear embossing powder to get the lovely lures you see on my finished card. Also, before my next try, I googled "fising lures" and got inspiration from a lure manufacturer!

Love You To The Stars (with Studio Calico Card Kit)

Here's the second card I made using the pink constellation paper from my Planetarium Studio Calico Kit. The pink paper made me think of a night sky so I cut out the tree/house silhouette out of dark grey paper to simulate night time. I used one of the other papers from the kit and cut out "Love you to the stars and back" to use as my sentiment.

Below, I also tried another version, but I just don't like it. Something isn't right.... Maybe I should have reversed the two sky papers, I'm not sure.

Sending You Love with Studio Calico Planetarium Kit

I recently received my first Studio Calico Card Kit that I subscribed to. This card is partly from the May 2013 called kit titled "Planetarium". The blue and redish-orange papers are from the kit. The rest are other materials I have in my craft room.

Hot Pink & Black Mother's Day Meadow

This is the card I made for my Mother for Mother's Day. She asked for a fuchsia & black card. I was stumped for awhile, but I happened upon this beautiful inspiration card.

I knew I needed a sheer ribbon for mine as well so it wouldn't chop up the card and hide the beautiful flowers behind it. The wildflowers are from a beautiful set designed by Lisa Johnson called "Larger Than Life" sold by PTI. She just released a new wildflower collection I ordered called "Peaceful Wildflowers" sold by MFT.

Flower Jar Mother's Day Card for Grandmother

I made this card for my Husband's Grandmother. I mostly copied the design from Michelle Wooderson's beautiful cards.

I didn't have a dotted stamp to go around the oval tag so I used a peach colored pencil to drawn in the stitching lines. I cut paper buttons for the flower centers.

I just got the most AMAZING alphabet stamp set that I am IN LOVE WITH -- Avery Elle's "Lovely Letters".  I just got it, and I used it to stamp "Granny" on the tag. I placed the "y" a little too far to the right, but I'll get better. This set is going to let me customize sentiments so beautifully. There are two lower case y's in the set -- one has a flourish on the end for if you end a word with a y. LOVE! I'm not affiliated with either of those companies, I just love this set. It's hard to find a good alphabet in my opinion! I think if you place the letters even closer together, it looks like a continuous cursive word!

Binary Hat

The stripes on this hat spell "hat" in binary computer language. It was the perfect Christmas gift for a geeky family  member of mine!

I used this binary hat pattern. It is knit from Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Hand-Dyes in midnight blue and iris.
